FAQ

Are you accepting new clients?

I am accepting new clients via video and have limited in person slots open. Please contact me directly 949-346-4562 to get started.

Is walking therapy mandatory or can I just choose to go the office instead?

Walk and talk session is not mandatory—you have the option to choose where you would like to have the session at, either in the office or outside. We do not even have to walk. If you want a session outside of the office, I will work with you in coordinating a mutual location.

Is this a cardio workout or personal training?

No, this is not a personal training session—although, walking does burn a few calories, which is an added bonus. The client will set the pace and there is nothing physically strenuous about the session.

How long are sessions? How often will I see you?

Whether outside or inside, all sessions are typically held for 50 minutes. In the beginning, I like to meet with my clients weekly–this builds the momentum for our work together. Thereafter, we can always talk about what your current needs. Some of my clients continue with me weekly because they like the weekly appointments; others, transition from weekly to bi-weekly or monthly.

What if I see someone I know while during our walk and talk therapy session or outside?

I am committed to maintaining your confidentiality. If by chance we run into someone you know, I will follow your lead and will not compromise your confidentiality. The choice is up to you how you choose (or not) to acknowledge me.

What if you see someone you know?

I will always maintain your confidentiality and will not acknowledge you to anyone as my client without your signed permission. The general public is use to seeing people walking together every day. There is nothing explicit that states we are in a therapy session.

Do you accept insurance?

Currently, I do not accept insurance. The therapy fee is paid in full in cash or check at the beginning of each session.

Disclaimer for Good Faith Estimate for Private Pay and Out of Network Clients

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises

What if I still don’t know if counseling is for me?

I offer a free 20 min consultation to help you make this decision. If you feel that we are not a good fit, that is totally okay too and will offer you referrals if needed.
